This year’s NBA Finals are just what America wanted, or at least what NBA fans wanted. It’s the best player vs. the best team; the home town hero, turned pariah, turned home town hero again; the baby-faced assassin/MVP who propelled his team to the Finals; LeBron vs. Curry; Good vs. Evil.
Thursday night mark the start of the NHL for the rest of the league. That means the Blackhawks got their Stanley Cup campaign underway on the road against the Dallas Stars. Of course the awful Thursday Night Football game was on (last night wasn’t so awful though). Last night featured the Indianapolis Colts and the Houston Texans. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver came down with maximum punishment for Los Angeles Clippers’ owner Donald Sterling, on Tuesday afternoon. Silver banned Sterling for life from the NBA and also fined Sterling $2.5 million, the maximum amount allowed by the NBA’s constitution. The commissioner will also try and force Sterling to sell the L.A. Clippers.
Kevin Durant made a ridiculously tough three-pointer while falling out of bounds in the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 111-105 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies Monday night. He was also fouled on the play and KD converted the rare, and in this case near impossible, four-point play.
The 2013-14 Chicago Bulls lost former MVP Derrick Rose 10 games into the season due to another injury. The front office traded away its only other star player, Luol Deng, midway through the season. But somehow the Bulls still managed to win 48 games and ended the season as the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference.
